Christmas in July is Merry & Bright!

Hello friends and happy "hump day" to ya! :0)
Since this is THE last day of July and there are several challenges going on with that theme, I didn't want miss all of the fun!  Besides, I think I've got a great start on my Christmas cards for this year and I have to say that's a really wonderful feeling because that's just one less thing I'll have to worry about when the time gets here...which will be very soon!

I've noticed that Elphine House Australia (Elisabeth Bell) has released a darling image that I already own from when it was released at Sugar Nellie!  (I don't see it in the store there, but I saw it being used by the talented Julie from the DT on the challenge blog...she inspired me to bring it out and use it!)
Isn't this just DARLING!  I've used it before a while back, but it's called "Trimming the Tree" by Elisabeth Bell for Elphine House Australia.  He's such a doll to color!  I've glittered up the star and the gold beads going around the tree.  I did some extra stamping around the image, to add the sentiment and decorate the middle of the bow with a star all from the same stamp set (HOTP) from my stash.

All the papers I've used here are from Stampin' Up! along with the glitter brads and border punch.
Yay for more Christmas!  Hope you enjoy my creation for ya today!

Here are the challenges that I'd like to enter this for:
Elphine House Australia - Christmas in July
Elisabeth Bell's World - Christmas in July
Card Crafter's Circle - Christmas in July
Crafty Catz - Christmas in July
2 Sisters - Sketch
Totally Gorjuss - Christmas in July
ABC Challenges - Use up Scraps (I always have those stupid long strips left!)
Crafty Cardmakers - 1, 2, 3 recipe:  1 image, 2 designer papers, 3 embellishments-
(ribbon/bow, circle star, glitter gold brads)
Deep Ocean - Christmas in July

Tomorrow I have a fun shopping day with a friend, but I'm still working on some things to post later so I hope you'll come back soon to see what I've got going on!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Charmingly Hooked!

Hello friends!  Hope you are having a wonderful day today!
I thought it would be fun to make a CAS design for a couple of challenges..so I pulled out some stamps to have a play and this is what I came up with:
Now I am not one for fishing with the yucky baiting of hooks and slimy fish, but I have to admit that this little worm guy is so cute!
Going through my big stash of charms, I found a charm with two hearts that were hooked together and thought it would work nicely with my design.  I've used some silver metal brads along the side of the blue panel, used some metallic silver card stock for a layer behind the worm and I even colored the hook with my metallic gel pen.  I thought these items would compliment the silver charm.  Hope you like!

Here are some challenges that I played along with:
All Sorts - Kraft It! (use kraft card stock)
The Paper Players (PP156) - LeAnne's Sketch, see below:

So that's all for me today!  Short and sweet this time, but I'll be back again soon with another design that I've got going on "behind the scenes", so I hope you'll stop back by to join me again soon!
Thanks for taking the time to see what I'm doing today!  :0)

Makin' a Splash on Monday!

Hello friends and welcome to the last week of July!
It actually feels a bit like Fall outside right now with the temps dipping down to 60's which is highly unusually for us this time of year!  I'll take it and leave my air conditioning off for a while! :0)  I'm sure that by the end of this week or so that the temps will be climbing back up soon enough!

Today I have a couple of Summer fun creations for you to remind you that when the temperature gets higher and you need to cool off, just make a splash!
First up this REALLY adorable Riley!  I believe I received this stamp a while back from a contest and I don't recall the name of this one...but isn't he too cute?!  I made this for the current Riley & CO challenge to make a Summer style creation with your favorite Summer past time...(which I love to swim or at least float along in the cool water! LOL!)...and also to use the color YELLOW somewhere on your creation.
For his innertube floaty I covered it with some crystal effects to give it that shiny plastic look.  I also thought it would be fun to add some gems for a water drop look.  The sentiment is also a Riley & CO stamp from the Circus Sentiments set.

Here are some challenges that I want to add this one for:
Riley & CO - Celebrate Summer!
Tuesday Morning Sketches - sketch - missed it!
Chocolate, Coffee & Cards - animals
Eclectic Ellapu - anything goes
Pile it On - anything goes

And here's my second creation for you today that's also making a splash!
I've got another fun penguin image for you!  If you remember my Christmas Penguin image from Bugaboo, here's the same little guy, but trying to "stay cool" in the heat! LOL!  This one is called Poppi Penguin - Innertube from Bugaboo...I think Poppi is too cute!  I tried to keep this one a bit more masculine, but I made sure to add enough "bling" with the sparkly water, drink and his shades have some smooch on them to give them that sunglasses shimmer look!  I wanted to play along in the fun inspirational photo challenge that Bugaboo has going on right now at Catch the Bug Challenge Blog...see below.  In trying to keep with the colors in the photo, I got out my old stash of "Hang 10" Basic Grey papers which make for fabulous masculine style colors and design!  There is a surf board style design in the papers.  The sentiment actually comes from a Hambo Stamps image in my stash.

Here are the challenges that I'd like to enter this creation for:
Bugaboo Catch the Bug - inspirational photo, see below

Penny's Paper-Crafty - Bling it On!
Cute Card Thursday - Beside the Seaside
The Sweet Stop (SSS221) - sketch
Sentimental Sundays - anything with wings + sentiment
The Squirrel and The Fox - Nautical/Sea Life

I hope that you get out today and enjoy this gorgeous weather because we all know that Christmas is less than 5 months away now!  So get out there and "make a splash" today!  :0)
Thanks so much for stopping by!  I love it when you do!!  Be around to see what's going on shortly!

Some Endless Summer Fun!

Hello friends!  Happy Friday to you!  The weekend is finally here! Yay!
I have a rather longish post for you today with lots of fun photos...so hope you enjoy it all!

OK...I'm sure you know how I adore those darling Elisabeth Bell images/stamps...so here's a good one for you today with a "Summer Theme" in mind.  I'm creating this because over at The Digi Bells, they're looking for some designers to join them as a guest designer for a few months and the time is starting to run out to enter...so I thought why not?!  :0)
I believe this is one of THE very first digital stamps that I owned from Elisabeth Bell!  This darling little book reader is called A Tasty Read and you can only get her through Elisabeth Bell's Digital Store!
I think she is so sweet and she really reminds me of Summer because of this is something that I really enjoy doing myself!  I love to read and being able to read a good book out in the sunshine is heaven to me!  It also reminds me of a beautiful Summer day where she is taking a lunch break reading a book while she's waiting for her laundry to get done! LOL!   The sentiment is something that I had lurking in my stash and thought it would help bring out the "Summer theme" in it.  I've distressed the edges of my papers and for the flowers I've added some paint and sprinkled it with glitter while it was still wet to help it stick.

And here is a closer look at the image and how she's colored in.  I have so much fun coloring in Elisabeth Bell images with my Copic markers!  I would love to get more colors!  There's still so many that I do not have yet! LOL!

So as you can see, there is a fun little surprise lurking behind the image on the front of the card!
If you pull on the button tab at the top, you will find something to help you along with your Summer reading!

I took some of the papers that I've used on the card and created a book mark that is hidden behind the colored image panel so that you can mark your place when you are outside this Summer reading your favorite book!  Do you like to read?  What is your favorite Summer read right now?  I've been reading a Stephen King book called "Under the Dome" while trying to watch this new series on TV!
So I hope you've enjoyed my creation for you today!

Here are the challenges that I'd like to enter this one for:
The Digi Bells - Summer theme (GDT call)
Dutch Dare - In Stitches
Addicted to Stamps - Lots of Layers
Papertake Weekly - Die-ing for a Punch!
Simon Says - Summer Food and/or Drink
Crafts 4 Eternity - Anything Goes
And I thought it would fun to share some photos with you of some "Summer Fun" that I had yesterday while I was sitting outside with my hubby.  I really enjoy the flowers in our backyard and so I grabbed my camera to take a few photos of them...
I just love these gorgeous pink flowers!  They get so big, but don't last very long!
But if you can see in the photo, there are constantly blooms coming out every single day...so I'm hardly ever without a gorgeous big bloom once they start going!

I just love these gorgeous cheery colorful blooms!  These are black-eyed Susan's that came from my hubby's beloved relative that has passed.  We think of her every time we see these gorgeous blooms!  Thanks so much Aunt Iris!  We love you!

While we were sitting outside on our patio enjoying the flowers, we had a very pretty visitor that came along and sat in our crab apple tree!  I love the pretty song Cardinals make!  Hubby was good about grabbing the camera quickly before he flew away!

Today it is a little rainy out and I have some housework to do along with a visit from my mom, so I will leave you all with this and I hope you've enjoyed my post today!  Hope you have a wonderful weekend friends!  Thanks so much for stopping by as I love hearing your cheery thoughts!

Pretty in Pink Flower Friend

Hey friends!  Are you enjoying this oh so gorgeous weather?!
If you live near me, then you know that the weather is just the perfect temperature with the air conditioning not having to run, but warm enough to enjoy the outdoors!  I love it!

OK...so today I decided to share with you a new digital stamp that I won from a challenge today!
I'm using it for the same challenge that I won it from before.  I do really love "Sassy Cheryl's" images...they are just too stinkin' CUTE!  So check this out...
This darling little girl is an image that I won from Squigglefly called Simple Gift of a Flower by Cheryl Alger.  I adore her images and they are so fun to color in as well!  Squigglefly currently has another challenge going on right now to use either PINK or BLUE...obviously I chose the pink color! :)
I was trying to figure out for the longest time what, if anything, to add for accents and saw this pretty pink flower, but then I had no idea what to use in the center.  I wanted it to match the flower she was holding, so I found this big yellow metal brad to use!  I just added a few daisies in places to match the tiny daisies along the edge of her dress.  The sentiment comes from Whimsy Stamps punched out with my oval punch and glittered along the edge.  Hope you like!

So here are some challenges that I want to add this creation for:
Squigglefly (SFC2913) - Baby Blue or Pretty Pink
Sassy Cheryl's - Best Friends
Card Crafter's Circle - sketch
Creative Inspirations - Bingo! (Flowers, Stamped Image, Twine/Ribbon)
CRAFT - For the Girls
Paper Crafting Journey - Punches or Die Cuts (punched corner accent, punched oval)

I've got some house work to take care of and then I need to get back into my craft room as I have another idea or two that I'd like to try out!  So I hope you'll stop by again soon!!  Thanks so much for all of your kind words...it's so appreciated!  Enjoy your beautiful day!

A Case of Two CAS

Happy "Hump Day" friends!  This post is up a bit late for me, but I had some things I wanted to get done this morning and didn't get to my craft room until the afternoon.

As a result, I quickly whipped up a couple of CAS (clean & simple) designs to hurry up and get them in some challenges that are ended very shortly!  So here we go...

I used some Kraft cardstock along with Twine for a CAS challenge called "Krafty Twinery".
Added the flower wasn't what I had in mind, but I think it works out!

Here are the challenges that I'd like to enter for this card:
CAS on Sunday - "Krafty Twinery"
Brown Sugar - anything goes
One Stop Craft - Make your Own Background
The Squirrel & The Fox - use Something Spooled
The Pink Elephant (TPE209) - monochromatic
Divas by Design - anything goes
Hambo Hoedown - stripes
The Crafter's Cafe - anything goes

And for my second creation, I've decided to pull out this really silly Flamingo image from Bugaboo and made a fun Summer scene with it:
I colored her in, cut her out and popped her out over my beach scene.  I made the background sky with some chalk brushed in different colors and punched out a circle for the sun.
I've also added some crystal effects on her sunglasses and some sparkle to the water drips.

Here are the challenges that I want to enter this card for:
Catch The Bug - Bingo! - I used:  Sparkle, Summer Image & Player's Choice
The Crazy Challenge - Summertime
Kaboodle Doodles - anything goes
Tuesday Throwdown - "Toes in the Sand" (Beach scene)
Crafty Creations - Summer
The Crafter's Cafe - anything goes
The Sisterhood of Crafters - "Bring on the Heat! (add a sun)

So that's it for me today and hopefully I have met the deadline for some of these challenges! LOL!
I will be back again tomorrow with another creation for ya!
Thanks so much for checking in today!

Lemon & Lavender Yum

Hello friends!  Thankfully we had a bit of a cool down this weekend, but not cool enough for me to shut that air conditioning off!  It is still a bit muggy with the rain clouds hovering.  We need rain too, so I hope we can get some of that as well!

I'm so excited because it really feels like I am on a winning streak!  I was excited to learn that I won third place in the Bugaboo "Christmas in July" event!  (Be watching as I have a GDT for a month due to me winning!)  I also won at a Riley & Co blog hop!  I haven't used one of my Riley stamps since I started up my new blog...but I'm sure I will shortly!  I also won at a couple of different challenge blogs!  All from this last week!  I don't think I've ever been so lucky in one week!  Should I play the lottery too?! :0)

You know I couldn't start up blogging again without getting out my sweet little Elisabeth Bell images!
So I got out this cute little digital to play along in some challenges:
Isn't she just precious?!  This is the darling Sweet Tooth digital stamp from Elisabeth Bell.
I've gotten out some of my flowers, papers and other goodies from my stash and it felt so good to use them!

Here's a bit of close-up of the image for ya.  It may be hard to see in the photo, but I've added some crystal effects over the glass portion of the candy machine.  I love how she's peeking up over the edge to watch the candy coming out! LOL!

And then of course I've added a special sentiment tag that slides in behind the oval panel.
I wanted to use a metal clip to make it easier to grab and pull on the tag.  I've also added some yellow metal brads at bottom of the lavender embossed panel.  The colors look a bit different in the photos than it does IRL.  I love how the colors all blend together nicely with the lemon and lavender!
I hope you like it!

Here are the challenges that I'd like to enter this for:
Elphine House Australia - Add Some Metal
Fussy and Fancy Friday - Lemon & Lavender
Charisma Cardz - Girly
Dutch Dare Card - Floral Frenzy

I'm sure I'll be in my craft room tomorrow to work on some designs going through my head!  So I hope you'll be back to see what else I have in store for ya!
Thanks so much for dropping in and enjoy your day!

A "Joyful" Christmas Angel

Happy Friday to you!  I am so glad that the weekend is here, but I have to say that it went by sort of fast with all of the Christmas creating I was doing! LOL!
So I'm here to share my last installment of the Christmas in July challenges...
I think this fellow is so cute!  This is another Bugaboo image called Jesse Bear Angel - Cloud Sitter.  I thought he would work for a Christmas style design for today.  I've done several different things to this image to achieve different looks like coloring the halo with a gold glitter pen, I used some smooches on his wings and then I painted the cloud with some white Shimmerz paint and sprinkled some glitter over it while it was still wet.  I also added some Stickles to the stars.  I even stamped a small star in the background.  The main panel, ribbon and sentiment oval are all cream color.  The edges of the image panel got a dose of glitter too along with the edges of the sentiment oval on the bow.

Of course don't forget the metallic gold corners along with a rhinestone in the middle of the stars!
I think I've managed to bling this one up pretty good! LOL!  It looks so sparkly in person though!

So here are some challenges that I'd like enter this one for:
Catch the Bug - Christmas in July challenges (recipe challenge, see below)

Try Stamping on Tuesday (TSOT9) - sketch (see below)

Sentimental Sundays - You've Been FRAMED (+ sentiment)
Paper Crafting Journey - Christmas in July
CCEE Stampers (CCEE1329) - Inspired by Song:  "Hark! The Harold Angels Sing"
(I've been in the Christmas mood all week! LOL!)

Thanks so much for joining along with me all week with my Christmas postings.  I hope that you have enjoyed all of my creations and it was fun to create with the rest of you doing the same challenges!  I always have fun looking at what everyone else is doing too!  If you are just a lurker here, please be sure to leave me a comment and I'll stop by for a visit!  Hope you all have a great weekend!

Tagged Christmas & Shy Bear Well Wishes

Hello friends!  We are now already on the down-hill slope of this week already!
I am ready for the weekend to be here because it's supposed to cool down a bit and I'm looking forward to spending time with my hubby! :0)

Two creations for you today as promised.  Of course the first one here is a Christmas creation for the continuing challenges for the Bugaboo Christmas in July fun going on:
This is about as simples as it can get with this diaper fold creation!  Have you ever made one of these?  WOW...I've not done anything so simple with just a couple of folds!  All you REALLY need in my opinion is double-sided design paper...and Lord only knows I have plenty of that! LOL!!
You can find the tutorial "how to" on this diaper fold pouch  from Beate on SCS: CLICK HERE!

For the Bugaboo challenge today, you were supposed to add a tag to your creation...well Bugaboo has a set of these adorable Christmas tag images and I've added the Santa Tag to my pouch.  I just printed it out, colored it in and cut it out...and just attached it to my candy kisses pouch!
Now I know it's a bit hot for Christmas treats...BUT kisses are perfect for any time of year and I knew I had some lurking around the house! :0)  So easy and simple...which I needed this morning as this heat has made me a bit sluggish today!  Hope my pup doesn't' want to stay out too long today! LOL!

And here are some challenges I would like to add my candy kisses pouch with:
Catch the Bug - Christmas in July (Tag You're It - Make a Project with a Tag)
Totally Gorjuss - Sweet
Creative Belli (CBC174) - Christmas (My old stash is the paper & snowflake)
Divas by Design - Tags

And here's my second creation for you today...which is not a Christmas design.
Sorry for those that are disappointed it's not Christmas and you're welcome for those that want a break from my Christmas designs!! LOL!

As I had mentioned before, I'm over the topped thrilled that I got my photos saved from my computer before it had to be booted up again!  And this is one of the reasons why...
I got to make this card!
I absolutely adore these sweet little Shy Bears from Squigglefly!  (This little guy is called Bouquet Bear)
Some of you that have known me for a while knew that I used to be on their DT and of course had collected many of their images..well and bought some too! LOL!  Especially these Shy Bears! :0)

So I got one out to play along in their current challenge going on called "Emboss Me".  Hopefully you can see that I've used an embossing folder behind Shy Bear and I also embossed the striped design paper with my chevron embossing folder as well.  I really love these blue and green colors together!  I'm always running out of "get well" cards, so that's what I decided to put on the tab.  Hope you enjoy!

Here's some challenges that I'd like to enter this one for:
Squigglefly (SFC2813) - Emboss Me
Eclectic Ellapu - flowers
Tuesday Morning Sketches - sketch plus animal image
Deep Ocean - Blue
The Crafter's Cafe - anything goes

So that's all I have to share with you today.  Of course I will be back again tomorrow for my final Christmas design and then we can take a break from all of the Christmas. :0)  I really feel good about getting some Christmas items done though and while it's so hot out, it's certainly not hard to think "cool thoughts"!
Please be careful if you are out and drink of plenty of fluids.  Thanks for checking in today!

A Christmas Cha-Ching Chuckle and a Monochromatic CAS

Hello and happy hump day my friends!
Since my plan is to stay in the air conditioning this week while it's hot out, I'm happy to report that I'm not only getting lots of fun stamping done, but I'm getting an awesome head start with my Christmas cards! Yay!  I don't think I could ever have enough of them!  So here's some more for ya!

LOL!!  Now isn't that the truth?!  This of course is another one of those Bugaboo images.  She is from their line of Stella images...this one called Stella Christmas-Christmas Cost.
I've added sparkle to her hat fur trim and it's hard to tell in photo, but I've also added some crystal effects to her glasses.  I thought that the dollar sign accents would work well with the sentiment! :0)

And this here are the challenges that this card was made for:
Catch the Bug - Christmas in July challenge 5 (Make me Laugh)
Sunday Sketch & Stamp - sketch (flipped)
Papertake Weekly - Buttons & Bows
Tuesday Throwdown - anything goes

And now I have another creation that I'd like to share with you today.
I do enjoy making ALL types and styles of cards from the most intricate detailed to the one-layer simple.
The point being you never know just WHAT you'll be finding on my blog from day to day...whatever your tastes are, I'm pretty sure that at some point I will fulfill your wishes! LOL!

For this creation, I still kept with the "Christmas" theme going on with me this week...
I'm not sure if this is considered a one-layer or not and when I started it, I really wasn't sure exactly where I was going with it, but I think I like the blues among the pure white background.
The sentiment is an older Whimsy Stamps sentiment that was embossed in white on the blue banner.  It just seemed the only thing I could find that fit on it.

Here are the challenges that I made this creation for:
CAS(E) This Sketch

Charisma Cardz - No design paper
Brown Sugar - Shades of Blue
CAS on Sunday - Christmas in July

I hope that you've enjoyed my Christmas designs today and please come back again tomorrow where I should have another couple of creations to share with you!  Thanks for dropping in!
Have a great day and stay cool!

A Merry & Bright Penguin

Whew!  It's a hot one out there today folks!  It's supposed to get up to over 90 degrees with a heat index of 100 degrees...so I'm staying inside the air conditioning!!  I woke up this morning and there was even moisture on the outside of windows!  That was about 6:30 am and it was already muggy!
So today, I thought I'd bring some cooler thoughts your way with another Christmas design using this really adorable penguin...
Isn't he a cute lil feller?! :0)  If you've been following around my blog(s) with me the last few years, then you know how much I love penguins...I have a nice collection of penguin stamps.  I had to this one to it as well! LOL!!  This is Poppi xmas candy cane from Bugaboo stamps.  I've added some sparkle to his hat fur trim and put some crystal effects on his beak and feet & holly berries for some shine.  Then I cut him out and popped him up on the embossed panel.  It may be hard to see in this photo, but the striped background papers are glittery and of course I used some red glimmer ribbon.  I LOVE getting out my Christmas papers and using them up!  Especially thinking of snow and ice while it's SO HOT out!! LOL!

And of course I made this especially for certain challenges today:
Catch the Bug - Christmas in July - challenge 4 Bugaboo Bingo
(I used the ribbon, Bugaboo image & sentiment)

Monday Mojo - sketch MOJO302
Kaboodle Doodles - anything embossed (wet or dry)

I need to fill up on some more coffee and then I'll be around to see what you are all up to today!  I will have a couple of creations to share again with you tomorrow!  I hope you're enjoying this week long posting every day with me!  I'm having fun staying cool inside and stamping! :0)
Have a great day!

It's Going to Look a lot Like Christmas!

Hello friends!!  Happy Monday and beginning of a new week!
Boy, have I been so busy this morning!  I don't remember a time since I've blogged that I have ever created THREE creations in one post...but I am today!

I happened to catch a fun little blog hop and some challenges to go with it this weekend on the "Catch the Bug" Challenge blog which are the Bugaboo stamps.  Now I don't have LOTS of these stamps, but they do make me smile and some make me LOL!  So I followed along and thought I would join in the fun this week.
There are challenges laid out every single day this week and you have to join the challenges to be entered into the drawing for the blog hop.  It started Saturday, so I'm catching up..PLUS...you'll be seeing Christmas all week long on my blog with these challenges!  Which is perfect for me because it's so hot outside and thinking about Christmas is a nice cool relief!  Anyway, I hope you enjoy my posts every day this week!

This is for the first challenge:
For the first challenge, you were supposed to "Show Your Santa!" and it had an inspirational photo with it:
LOL!!  I thought this fun image from Bugaboo called Tropical Santa-Drink.  I thought he would be perfect to use with this inspirational photo of course!  I found some tropical background papers too! :0)  I still kept the red and green colors for Santa.  I got some sparkle on Santa's hat fur trim.

Here are a few other challenges I want to enter this card for:
Catch the Bug - Christmas in July challenge 1 (inspirational photo)
Sketch Saturday - sketch (flipped it)
The Crafter's Cafe - anything goes
2 Sisters - Make it Sparkle

And now for my second creation, I was given a sketch to work with and here's what I came up with:
LOL!!  He's not a very "joyful" little elf is he?!  This is the Christmas Brat Boy Elf image from Bugaboo.  (I thought he was too cute!) So instead of using the traditional red and green colors, I always love to use blue for Christmas and it looks nice paired with the green and gold.

Here's the challenges entered for this one:
Catch the Bug - Christmas in July challenge 2 (sketch)

Created with Love - anything goes

And for my last creation (Which catches me up with all of the challenges so far!) I was given a color swatch to work with and it reminded me of the old-fashioned Vintage type Christmas colors and so this is what I came up with:
I think these little girls with the big bonnets are so cute!  They remind me of the old Holly Hobby doll that I used to have when I was a child!  I think it would've been nice to add some stitching to it, but I had already assembled the entire card before I thought of it! LOL!  Oh well, next time maybe!?
This Bugaboo image is called Christmas SB Ornaments.  (I think their whole line of the Little Miss Muffet images are all adorable...so I'll have to check them all out now!)

And here's the challenges entered for this creation:
Catch the Bug - Christmas in July challenge 3 (color swatch)

CRAFT - Christmas
Dutch Dare - Tic Tac Toe (Ribbon, Button, for child)

Hopefully that's enough from me for today, but I'll be back again tomorrow with more challenge creation results and more Christmas fun! :0)  I hope you've enjoyed my creations and I really appreciate your kind words and taking the time to stop by! So glad you're here!!

Wish You Were Here

Hello friends!  Wow...Friday is here and came really FAST! :)
So sorry I have neglected posting since Monday, but I'm so excited because I got my desktop computer back! Yay!  It got to the point that it wouldn't even start...so I was physically ill thinking that I had lost all of my precious photos and the digital stamps that I would once again like to use...I did some money on them as well and would hate to loose all of this!
Whew...they were saved thanks to my IT guy!  Thanks so much dude!..so I've basically spent most of the week getting everything back on my computer to make it more like home again.
I feel like I'm "back to normal" now whatever that means! LOL!

So, I have been working on a creation, but in bits and pieces this week as I've had time since I've been busy working on my computer...but it's done and I'm happy with it for the most part.
I just hate working on something in bits in pieces...that's just not me.  I like to finish!
Anywho...I broke out some of my beloved Magnolia stamps....
The background "beach scene" is something that a friend had stamped up and giving me a while back, so I'm not really familiar with what it's called.  I'm pretty sure it's not even available for purchase anywhere that I know of.  I really dig that awesome sunset...I sure wish I was there! LOL!
I used this sweet Tilda with Ponytail, cut her out and propped her up on the bench.  She looks in deep thought....I love it and so very Summer. :0)
I wasn't sure about the seashells being added to it because I thought they were too big, but I think it looks OK as an accent with the cheesecloth accents around it.  The sentiment comes from a stamp that is grouped with other stamps and don't know where they came from other than a friend sending them to me.  I think I may send this card to a special friend that I really miss and think of her often hoping that she might feel the same way!...hope you enjoy it!

Here's some challenges that I'd like to enter this for:
Midweek Magnolias - Wish You Were Here with Beach theme
Magnolia-licious - Some Like it Hot! (hot Summer sun!)
Tilda's Town - anything goes
Creative Inspirations - At the Beach
Chocolate, Coffee & Cards - Life's a Beach

There seemed to be several "beach" theme challenges this week, so I wanted to try and get what I could with that...as was with my last post from Monday! LOL!
I'm so excited now that I've got my computer, images and everything ready to go...so hoping that I can get on a roll now and keep playing with my goodies!
I wish you all a great weekend and I'm so thrilled that you have stopped by to visit and subscribe to my blog...welcome and hope you enjoy my posts!

Charmed with Summer

Hello friends and happy Monday to ya! :0)
As you can see...I'm going slowly with my creations to try and gain back my "MOJO" little by little.    I really can't wait to get my hands on all of my poorly neglected stamps.  I'm trying to use what I have as I've come to realize this year that I have an overwhelming abundance of stamps and embellishments!
**If you'd like to join me in this movement...leave me a comment with your creation and what your "poorly neglected" stash is!  I'd be happy to leave you some love!**

So on to my creations for you today!  I'm trying not to miss out on a challenge or two that I've been wanting to play in...let's see if I beat the clock before I'm done posting!
I cut out the girl and the  pail and shovel to add to the beach scene.   I added some glitter to the sun I stamped in the top corner and to the drops of water dripping from the little girl.  I found a fun flip flop charm and thought it would be perfect to add to this design.

Now here's some challenges that I hope not to miss:

Crafty Catz - Child's Play

That was such a fun one to color, cut out and put together...love those yummy colors!

Here's another card that I made and had promised you in my last post that I was going to share a very special patriotic creation that I wanted to make for a special person.
This is a relative that I came to know through my husband and he's an older man who had served in the military and even earned a purple heart.  I have tremendous respect for him and he's such a kind-hearted person who happens to enjoy my hand made cards! :)
So this one is for you Uncle Don....
I found this awesome star charm and wanted to add it for an accent.  Although I missed the July 4th time frame, I know that it's never a bad time to thank our fellow men and women who serve our country!  I hope you all like it!

Here are some challenges that I'd like to enter for this one before time runs out:
Simon Says - patriotic
Creative Belli (CBC173) - stars (old charm I found!)
Chocolate, Coffee & Cards - 4th of July
2 Sisters - red, white & blue
Crazy 4 Challenges (C4C193) - Let's Get Wordy!

So that's all I have for you today, but I know I will be back with more soon as I've gotten more of my forgotten stamps and stash and I am currently working on putting together something else that I'd like to share with you!  So I hope you'll be back for that.

For now, it's raining outside which means it's a good day to stay in and craft! :0)
Stay cool this week...it's going to get muggy over my way!

Birthday Boy is Starred

Hello friends!  Happy Friday to you!  The weekend is finally here!
I have posted this a bit later than I wanted, but I had a few things to take care of this morning before I took photos and make up a post.

A few days ago I saw on Facebook someone had posted about a sick little boy who was asking for like 1 million cards for this birthday and I was really touched by the story obviously and wanted to be sure to send him one.  HERE is the article if you're interested.

I got busy yesterday and didn't get to post something for July 4th, but I thought it would be awesome to incorporate the red, white and blue colors in this card for the little boy today! :)
I think this little boy image is so sweet!  I love the stars on his shirt!  The little boy image is from DRS Designs and the sentiment is from my Stampin' Up! Family Reunion set.

It's hard to see on the white square panel behind the boy, but I've embossed it with a "shooting star" folder.  The papers I've used come from World Spectacular DP from Stampin' Up!  I punched out some stars and added a rhinestone.  I'm always careful about adding too much "bling" to a masculine style card as my son would say it's "girl stuff".
I really enjoyed making this one and hope that it will bring a smile to the little boy's face.

There are tons of challenges with 4th of July theme, so I may pop back in with another creation that I'd like send along for a very special military person that I know.

For now, these challenges should work with this one:
Mojo Monday (MOJO300) - celebration sketch
Craft Your Passion - Red, White & Blue
Tuesday Throwdown - Stars & Stripes
Creative Inspirations - Red, White & Blue
Cute Card Thursday - Stars and/or Stripes

And you know of course I couldn't leave this post without sharing with you another something yummy that I made yesterday.  As you can already tell, my family loves their sweets, so I've made some of my homemade chocolate chip cookies with bits of pecans mixed in with it...even my dog is a "cookie hound"! LOL!  I swear she can hear us open the container...how do they know?!
Yummy!  Maybe if you scratch at your computer screen, you can smell how yummy they are...but they taste even better!  Gotta love chocolate chips, right?!

That's all the fun I have for you so far...perhaps I can find some extra time to spend in my stamp room this weekend.  Until then, hope you all have an excellent weekend!
Thanks so much for dropping by!!  Love to hear what you have to say! :)

When Life Hands You Lemons...

Hello friends and welcome to "hump day"!  :0)
Tomorrow is July 4th so I hope you have some fun plans in store!  We will probably just have a cook out and enjoy this gorgeous weather we're having right now before it starts to heat up again.

I have something fun to share with you today.  It's a simple CAS card, but it sure felt good to get out my Copic markers and color in an image again!  I have really missed doing this!  And I do love me these darling meeces....so I had a go with one of my faves!
LOL!  Can you image just how sticky these meeces are with the lemons?!
It's always hard to photograph, but I've added some sparkles to the lemons and it looks so fun person.
I was a little nervous about doing it, but I've added some doodles along the edges since this is a one-layer card, I felt that it needed just one more thing added to it.
I suppose you could fill in your own imagination with what is on the inside of the card.  Not sure yet.

I've made this for a couple of challenges:
CAS on Sunday - One layer Wonder
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes! (optional animals/creatures)

Thanks to those of you stopping by as you see me out in "blog land" and adding me to your list to put in your reader or email!  I truly appreciate that!  I will add you too if I know you are out there and would like to keep contact with me!  I do enjoy seeing what you are all up to and would love to add you to my Feedly reader so I can stop by and say hello! :0)

That's all for me right now.  Perhaps I will post tomorrow with a patriotic creation for July 4th.
Thanks for checking in today friends!

Getting Back to the ABC's of Stamping!

Hello friends!  Welcome to the first day of July!
Wow!  I am so stunned with this weather!  Usually it is hotter than molasses over my way in July and I think we hit some record temps last year during this month...but today I actually have the windows open and the central air turned off in my house!
I don't even remember when that has ever happened during the month of July...it's been a while anyway!  So I am pretty happy about that anyway!  LOL

As my title says...I am trying to get back into the beginnings of stamping again.  Before I deleted my blog, I was already having troubles with my "MOJO" and I know it hasn't really helped with me deleting my blog and not stamping at all for a few months!  For some reason I have been having nothing but "MOJO" troubles this year and I haven't been able to shake this funk that I'm in.  I would really like to get through it though because as you may already know...stamping is what I really enjoying doing...blogging about it makes it even more "real" for me and allows me to share it with others that also enjoy it and understand. :0)
So I'm just trying to work through it all and "find myself" again.

I have had this idea in my head last week and just finished implementing it into my stamping this morning.  It was so fun getting out some of my neglected stamps!
I just LOVE daisies and I have been enjoying my backyard this year with all of the pretty flowers growing about here and there...I should actually put up some photos of things that have been growing in my back yard!

I embossed the flower in black and lightly colored the petals.

I like how it turned out and hope you do too!  I'm still going through blogs and challenges that I enjoyed playing along with, so it will take me a bit to "get back into" everything and figure out what I'm doing here! LOL!

So here's a list of challenges that I'd like to enter this for:

(I've used the "Birthday, Bling & Embossing" for my Tic Tac Toe)

ABC Challenges - anything goes

And of course since my family and I love to have our "sweet tooth" satisfied, I made some cupcakes this weekend...there is one with my name on it for this afternoon too!
YUM!  I made carrot cupcakes with cream cheese butter frosting and added pecan pieces to the batter and sprinkled some on top with a sprinkle of cinnamon!

I had so much fun creating my card..I hope I will be inspired to make several more as we go along here!
Thanks so much for checking in today!  Enjoy this gorgeous day!
