Hello friends!

Sorry that it seems that I have fallen off the face of the earth, but I promise you I have not and I'm doing just fine! :)  Thanks for any concern you have shown and hopefully I can get back to my regular blogging and crafting, but for now my time has been filled with other things.
Hope all is well with you and that we can connect again soon!

Heartfelt Thinking

Hello friends and welcome to the middle of the week!
I believe we are also in the middle of January...wow, did that go by FAST!  Never-the-less, I am ready for warmer weather and Spring so that I can go out and enjoy the flowers and dig in some dirt! :)
I have a quick and simple creation to share with you for today:
I really like how this turned out too!  I have used some of my fave papers that I tend to hoard a bit as I think they have a nice color theme and Vintage style...what I am hoarding them for, I have NO idea!
I know that Valentine's Day is coming and I love hearts and all of the colors that go with it, but I don't send out Valentine cards...so I decided to make this a  "Thinking of you" type of card as I need to make a batch to send to a "Cards for a Cause" Hospice charity this month.

The banners are made from a die I had as well as the hearts.  Although this is simple, I think it has some really great warmth to it.  Hope you like it.

I've used a couple of challenges that I wanted to enter this for:
Addicted to CAS - challenge #29 - code word:  Die Cuts

Try Stampin' on Tuesday (Challenge #151) - sketch + optional "Love Plaid" theme

Aud Sentiments (Challenge #98) - any sentiment

That's all for me now and I will be around later to see what you're all up to, I have to get back to my daily chores right now though! BLAH!  Rather be stamping! :)  Thanks so much for stopping in today!

It's a Penguin Parade!

Hello friends!
Hope you enjoyed your weekend and ready to start another Monday in the New Year!
Today I have several more penguin creations to share with you as promised.
Do you remember those Memory Box penguin stamps?  I went a little crazy a few years back and bought several of them, I think I fell in love with them all! LOL!
So I decided to put them to use today and make these special requested penguin cards for Operation Write Home and I've already got them mailed out!
These are all simple cards really, but I enjoyed putting them together because the penguin stamps were easy to color as well...not much to these and I my ideas mostly came from sketches that I've used.
I used a sentiment that came with the penguin stamp and then add three dots to the end of it.
When you open the card, the inside says:  "You're the best!"
So I thought this card could be for anytime of the year for the soldiers really.
The colors are Baked Brown Sugar, Chocolate Chip and Soft Sky.

Here are the challenges I want to enter this card for:
Operation Write Home - Sketch #205

Cards and More - anything goes
The Crafter's Cafe - anything goes

For my second penguin card, I still went simple, but wanted to party a bit....
LOL!!  I think I may have partied TOO much with this card because as I was trying to color in my penguin pal, I opened up a marker lid and the some ink splotched down all over the square penguin panel!  ACK!  So...instead of "redoing" my penguin, I decided to incorporate it into my design and added a few more "ink splotches" on my design and then took my yellow Copic marker and added a few more colorful dots to it.  I guess a mistake can add some "interest" to your design if you let it!  I think it gives it sort of a watercolor look to it!  I've also used a sentiment from my stash of Darcie's Stamps and the tiny stars and dots you see were stamped with an Alley Way stamp set.

Here are some challenges I'd like to enter my "party penguin" card for:
Freshly Made Sketches - whoops!  Missed the deadline!  :(
Divas by Design - Let's Celebrate
Fab 'N' Funky - Let's Celebrate
Inky Chicks - anything goes

And for my third card, I used a stamp to make a subtle background...
I wanted to keep this one simple too, but I loved the idea of stamping the potted flowers several times to make a background strip with the "punny" sentiment to go with it.
The flower image was with my Memory Box penguin stamp and the sentiment is from a Darcie's Stamp set.
I think the little penguin is subtle with the brightly colored flowers that really makes him pop out.

Here is the challenge for this card:
MOJO Monday - MOJO328

So I hope you've enjoyed my penguin parade for you today! :)  I feel good that these are already out in the mailbox and will soon be on the way to someone else to pass along a smile to!
Thanks so much for popping in and I'll see you again soon!

Party Penguins

Yay!  Happy Friday!  The weekend is here, we made it! :)
And to get this party started today, I have a couple of fun "party penguins" to share with you!
LOL!  I just adore penguins and whenever I see penguin stamps, I always want to pick them up!  These funny little guys are from the Critters in the Snow stamp set by Lawn Fawn.  I made a snow bank for them to stand on and popped them out.  You can see on my background papers that I've also stamped a small snowflake from the same stamp set.  The banner at the top is also by Lawn Fawn from their Bannerific stamp set.  The letters on the inside of the banner are from Stampin' Up! as well as the sentiment at the bottom.

My plans are to send this to the Operation Write Home as there is a special request for penguins.  I wasn't sure about it though because I thought it needed something and then my hubby walked by and said he liked my penguin card...so I called it done! :)  I was also going to make a couple of other penguin cards to go along with this one, but I didn't have time for it.  Perhaps I can sneak in some more craft time this weekend I hope.  I need to hurry because the deadline for this request to get cards sent in is only a week away!  So there just may be another penguin or two to join in the fun with these party guys! :)

Here are a couple of challenges I'm entering this for:

Crazy 4 Challenges (C4C217)

The Crazy Challenge (CCH162) - Cards for Men
Papertake Weekly - anything goes

So I hope you've enjoyed my card today and ready to be like these party penguin guys and get to the weekend to have some fun!  Hopefully I'll be back again soon with some more penguins to share!
Thanks for dropping in today!

Party Your Robot Off!

Hello friends!  It seems like forever since I posted and I don't know why, but I think most of my time has been trying to stay warm through our cold weather!
I'm so glad that this will be the coldest day of the week and start getting warmer!
Hope you are all staying warm except for those friends over in Australia...they are in the midst of hot summer days!  Yes, I'm jealous!! LOL!  I'm sure it will be our turn soon and then we will be complaining about how hot it is!! It's how it goes...always wanting something "else"!

I just have a quick and cute little card to share with you today for the fabulous party going on over at The Alley Way Stamps as they celebrate their 3rd birthday!
Don't you just love this cute little robot?!  He's from the Lighter than Air stamp set by The Alley Way Stamps.   I've just colored him in with my Copic markers and fancy cut him out so that I could arrange him holding the three balloons on the card!  The sentiment is from the TAWS All About YOU stamp set.  (I didn't have any TAWS birthday sets, but I thought this sentiment would work.)  The is the FIRST time I've used these sets...so I'm very excited about getting them out!

So for the balloons, all I did was punch out some small ovals with my Stampin' Up! punch and then used some white ink to give some dimension on them and then I added the twine and strung it down to the robot's hand as if he's holding them for the special birthday person! :)  And I wanted to be sure to use THREE balloons in symbolic of the third birthday for The Alley Ways Stamps!
I brushed some chalk in the background to make a nice warm sky...yes, I'm wishing!   Then I just rounded the corners of my card so that it sort of mimics the robot's head.

Here are some challenges I'd like to enter this for:
TAWS Blog - 3rd birthday celebration (Use at least one TAWS image to enter)
Charisma Cardz - Birthdays (Happy 5th birthday to you too!)
Brown Sugar - Use Ribbon or Twine
Allsorts - free & easy
Loves Rubber Stamps (LRSBC85) - anything goes
Shopping Our Stash (SOS133) - Use something new (stamps)
Top Tip Tuesday - Clean & Simple
Addicted to Stamps & More - Make Your Mark

I saw something that caught my eye while watching some videos, so I think I'm going to be in my stamp room today working on something else fun to share!!  I wish I didn't have to go out in this cold to get my hair cut...but I really need my hair cut!! LOL!!  I will be around to see what you've all been up to!
Thanks so much for stopping in today!!  I'm glad you're here!

Shape Up the New Year with an Old Edwin

Hello friends!  Hope you are having a great weekend!
I have some fun things planned with my family, so I know I'll be busy doing that while this post goes up for the new challenge we have for you at

For the first challenge of the new year, we would like to see your SHAPELY creations!
So basically anything that's not the common square or rectangle kind will work..remember to stamp it too!

Here's what I've decided to make for my creation:
I've made one of these a couple of years back that was on my old blog and still had the pattern for it, so I pulled it out again to make this bottle card for a New Year design!  I couldn't believe how old this Edwin stamp is that I have, but I wrote on the package what it is and it's the "Party Edwin" from the "Christmas and Winter 2007" collection!  Yikes!  Not sure if this is even around anymore, but I thought he was perfect for the front of my bottle card! :)  He did have some wings on him like the older Magnolia stamps do, but I just decided to cut them off when I fancy cut around the stamped image.

I've popped him up on the oval with the glitter gold card stock.  You can see if you look closely that I've added a tiny rhinestone to the bottle he's holding.  I was trying to mimic the top of my bottle card with it.  For the top of my bottle, I pulled out some gold waffle paper to wrap around it and then I took some black ribbon to wrap around it as well and then just added a punched circle of gold glitter card stock and a star rhinestone over that.

Oh...remember my last post with my "DO" word and wanting to fully complete my cards?
Here's what the inside of my bottle card looks like and I've even made a custom envelope to go along with it so that it is completely ready to go when I need it! Yay!

This was such a fun card to make!  I think it would also be great for a wedding, anniversary or some type of celebration besides New Year.  I'm actually going to save this for part of my Christmas card collection because there always seems to be someone that I forget to send a card to until AFTER Christmas is over...so I thought this would work out great and I'd have it on hand when I needed it!

Here are some other challenges that I'd like to enter this for:
Craft Your Passion - Something New
Creative Craft - anything goes
Creative Inspirations - Celebration
C.R.A.F.T. - anything goes
Creative Knockouts - All that Glitters
Card Makin' Mamas - anything goes

So I hope you'll be able to join us with your shapely creation and please stop by the Addicted to Stamps Challenge Blog to see all of the other shapely inspiration from the rest of my design team friends!
Thanks so much for stopping in today!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Some NEW Things in the New Year!

Hello friends and welcome to 2014!!!
Hope that you all enjoyed your Holidays and are ready to get into the New Year!
I sure am and this is not normally like myself to feel so excited about starting another year, but THIS year, I am!  I have a new word to tell myself this year which is "DO"
Instead of "wishing", "hoping", "wanting", "waiting", etc, etc....it's just going to be "DO"!

We all have a long list of "To do's", but this is more of a mental state of mind for me this year.
I always seem to look back and say, IF only I had done this or done that....blah blah blah...so this year I'm actually going to DO it!! :)
One way to start this off is by DOing up my cards and fully completing them so that they are ready to go with my stamped signature on the back, a greeting on the inside and an envelope to go with it!

I also plan on being "true" to myself and DOing the things that I enjoy DOing with the things that I enjoy DOing things with!  So brace yourself for all types of different creations on my blog this year!  Could be anything from very intricate, delicate designs, to the most simple and quirky of designs!

A motivation for me for "being true to myself" was a stamp set I saw and instantly fell in love with it and I just KNEW I had to have it!  Here's my creation:
I made this card with the True Colors stamp set from The Alley Way Stamps.  It has so many different images with it that there are so many fun possibilities in how it can be used!
I was also inspired by the current BE INSPIRED challenge (photo below) and so I've used the colors similar to the photo with the balloons and colored the brush with my Copic markers, but for the tip of it, I've covered it with some gold Stickles along with some drops underneath it.  I've also taken the same colors from the brush strokes and used them on my "color" sentiment.

Here are the challenges that I would like to enter this for:
BE Inspired Challenge - challenge #45 (NEW challenge blog!)

COLOR is my word

I'm showing my age here, but I have always really loved this song by Cyndi Lauper called "True Colors" and this has recently inspired me with the New Year..so I wanted to share the video:

I look forward to starting a great new year on my blog and I hope you will enjoy what I will be sharing with you too! :)

I was so excited to receive my winnings from a blog hop that I had participated in during the Holidays and it felt like another Christmas present to open!  Check out this matching set of goodies!
I'm so excited and can't wait to start using everything here!
Hope you've enjoyed my creation this evening and that I've provided you with some inspiration for the New Year!  I will be back again tomorrow with another something new and unexpected!
Hope you'll be back for that!
