Thanks Snow Much!

Hello friends!
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas time spent with your family and friends!
I have family gatherings scattered throughout before Christmas and up to New Year...so it's been hard to get some solid stamp time to get much of anything done.  I don't get much stamping time with my family hanging around! :)

It seems like I haven't posted anything creative for a while and I found some time in my stamp studio yesterday afternoon and had a play with my new card kit from Simon Says Stamp! Yay!
So I pulled it out to make a tall and skinny card for you today!

I really fell in love with the colors from this kit!  I really love the Bo Bunny papers too!
I didn't use a whole bunch of the perfect pearls from the kit, but you'll see the snowflakes in the background have a bit of purple tint to them.  I don't normally do a combination of both white and cream colors together like this, but with the items in this kit, it really works nicely.

I embossed the "thanks" sentiment at the bottom and it'a hard to tell, but the small heart on the paper banner along with the heart in the center of the snowflake are covered with glossy accents.
To pick up some of the blue colors in the decorative papers, I pulled out my bottle of blue shimmer mist and added some splatters to the background.

Here's what I put on the inside of the tall and skinny card:
I used the sentiments and images from the stamp set included in the kit to finish out my greeting on the inside of my card.  You will also notice that laying underneath the card, I stamped a matching envelope with it.  The finished card measures 6 1/2" x 3 1/4" which was made this way to perfectly fit inside these envelopes that I already had on hand.

Thanks for joining me here today!  I'll be seeing you all again in the New Year!
Best wishes and health to you for the coming New Year in 2015!

Hello friends!
Are you ready for Christmas?!  I am pretty much there.  A few last minute things to take care of and I'll be as ready as I'm going to be for it! :)
I really didn't think I was going to post another post until after Christmas, but I found a few precious minutes in my craft room while I was baking and thought I would join in a few challenges that I really like to play along in.

Here's my card:
I absolutely LOVE snowflakes and I don't think I made very many Christmas cards this year with the theme being snowflakes.  This isn't really a "Christmas" themed card as I'm pretty much done with it, but I have to say it doesn't hurt to make them for next year already!! :)

I have used the Whimsy Stamps Winter's Jewel 1 die cut and glued on top of a stitched circle die and then placed a star rhinestone in the center of it.  I have also used the sentiment at the bottom corner from the Whimsy Stamps Winter Letter Seals stamp set.  The smaller scattered snowflakes came from the Clearly Whimsy Stamp set called Christmas Greetings.

I've used different shades of blue colors and some glittered paper for the strips.
It's a very simple design, but I really like how it turned out!

Thanks for stopping in today!  Hope you have a great day!

Flashback Friday - Tags Til Christmas!

Hello friends and happy Friday!
I am just a bit late on this Friday for my post, but I've had a CRAZY couple of days and I'm a bit behind because of it!  So now I need to move on where I left off and continue on with my Christmas preparations now! :)

This will also be my last "Flashback Friday" post until the New Year!

*Warning...post is very photo heavy!*

So what I also like to include in my "Christmas preparations" is what else, besides cards, is TAGS!
I never purchase pre-made cards and never tags either...I have everything I need for those items...so why in the world would I buy them...it takes a little...or sometimes...A LOT of work is all!! LOL!

My perfect "go to" stamp set that I reach for to make tags...in a hurry...is this old Stampin' Up! stamp set called "Tags Til Christmas".  Here's what the set looks like in case you've never seen it before:
I think this is such a fabulous set to have on hand especially if you have the coordinating punches to go with the shapes.  (Which of course I do!) It makes it soooo easy to stamp the image and then punch it out to make up tags really fast!

So here's my latest batch of tags that I've piled up for gift wrapping:
For some reason, I thought that if I kept with the number '12' that I would just make 12 of each type of tag!  So with that theme in mind, I have created approximately 84 tags all in one day!  So I know that it can be done!!  I have no excuse! :)

I also thought while I was doing this, that this would make for a great gift for someone.  Just make up all of these tags and fill up enough for a cute tin or box and wrap it with ribbon.  I'm sure that someone would really appreciate this type of gift...I sure would!  Especially if they were all hand-made!  There's nothing better than a hand-made gift.  I've always told my children this as I received those darling things they made at school and proudly brought home.  I still have several Christmas ornaments that I have saved from them and plan to pass them along to my grandchildren one day! :)
(Make sure your child DATES the items they made so you know when they made it!)

So here's a bit of a closer look at the individual tags:
So these are just basic flat tags that I stamped, punched out and layered it and punched a whole in the top corner to thread some cord or twine through it.
For the Santa suit tag, I colored the "buttons" with my gold gel pen as well as the belt buckle.  I then took my black Wink of Stella glitter pen and colored in the belt.  I was also thrilled to use up some more of my gold eyelets!  LOL!  I put the "to:/from:" on the back of the tag.

For the black and red tag on the far right, I just stamped the sentiment in white ink on black card stock, punched it out with my square punch and layered it onto a red punched scallop square punched out as well.  The "to:/from:" is also stamped on the back.

And here's the set of folded tags:
I took some kraft card stock and used my stitched journal die to create several folded tags and stamped the designs on the front with red ink and punched them out.  I just cut some kraft card stock for the front ornament card tag and stamped the ornament with green ink and punched it out to attach to the front of it.  The "to:/from:" are all stamped on the inside of these tags.

The left tag was made for all of the Christmas cookie containers I will be making up very soon! :)  I took a small candy cane from another stamp set to stamp on the front bottom of this tag.

I also thought it was fantastic that I used up many of my supplies that have been sitting around like the different twine and scraps of card stock!  Tags are always great for using up those tiny scraps that you have laying around and haven't done anything with yet!

And now for an even further "Flashback Fun"...I thought I'd share some cards that I had made with this same stamp set.  This set is not only great for tags, but you can make some really great cards with it as well.  I believe that I had made all of these cards in 2012.

So I thank you so much for stopping by today!
Hope you've enjoyed my "Flashback Friday" posts and would like to see them continue in the New Year!
Merry Christmas and best wishes for an up-coming New Year my friends!

Christmas Cards Finally DONE!

Hello friends!
Whew!  I was at "crunch time" here trying to get all of my Christmas cards made up, so I had these last few that I made up VERY quickly as to get done so I can get all of these mailed out!
And yes...they are all mailed out thanks to the help of the Christmas card kits I got from Simon Says Stamp this year! :)

So here's my last "pile" of cards...
I think I've made up 8 of one kind and another 6 of another in there!
Talk about "Run, Run Rudolph!"  LOL!

Here are some closer views of each type:
So these set of cards were put together with everything in the Simon Says Stamp November card kit.  I don't think other than a few baubles, design paper and the stamp set itself are the only things left over from this kit!! LOL!!  So yes, I could still possibly make more cards, but this is plenty! LOL!

And here's the other set of cards I made:
So these six cards are all exactly the same and I assembled them all together at once using the Simon Says Stamp "extra Christmas card kit" that is no longer available.  This kit was pretty large and there is still MANY papers and elements left to do all sort of things, but really didn't want to go there!! LOL!!  Maybe I'll play around with it next year, but I think I've got 'er done for now! :)

It's hard to tell in the photo, but the circle behind the sentiment is gold card stock.
The two candy dots on the edges are enamel dots from the kit.  I thought it was such a fun set to play with!  I love the candy cane look!

I am running out of time and I must get my packaging done, cookies baked and presents wrapped!
So I hope you've enjoyed all of my Christmas card-making this month! :)
I will be back Friday with my last "Flashback Friday" posting of the year.
Thanks so much for stopping in today!!

Anything Goes Christmas at Tuesday Throwdown!

Hello friends!
Are you still working on your Christmas projects, getting them done or barely done...or forget it?! LOL!  Well if you are still working on them or getting a head start for next year, there is the perfect challenge for you to enter your "anything goes" Christmas projects this week at:

Tuesday Throwdown

Here is the card that I made for the challenge:
I've used this beautiful Christmas Ornaments 2 digital stamp by "Crafty Girl Creations" sold from the Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet store.  They are the sponsor for our challenge this week and are providing a lovely prize to a lucky winner!  So be sure to enter your Christmas creations for your chance to win!

I've printed out the image to make it large enough in size to cover the entire front of an A-2 sized card.  The sentiment at the top is from an older stamp I had in my stash.  I embossed it with black embossing powder over the image.
I have used my Copic markers to color in this image and I've also used lots of different media to embellish my ornaments.  I've used a white gel pen, a gold metallic gel pen, glitter and glossy accents.  Unfortunately, you can't see all of these details in the photo.
This one has already been sent out to someone! :)

I've also taken some gold cord and tied a bow at the top of each ornament to give a bit of dimension detail to the card.  The panel was also sponged around the edges with ink and then layered onto a piece of gold card stock and then over top of a red card base.

I hope you've enjoyed my creation and please be sure to hop on over to the
Tuesday Throwdown challenge blog to see all of the gorgeous Christmas projects from the rest of the design team.  I know they will inspire you with their Christmas ideas!

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today!  Looking forward to seeing your creation in the challenge and I'll see you again tomorrow for more Christmas festivities!  LOL!

Pretty Pink Snowflakes

Hello friends and happy Monday to ya!
Did you enjoy your weekend?  I feel like I got LOTS done...but of course there's always lots more left to do before I feel comfortable with Christmas coming! :)

So I had a play with some pretty snowflakes, this is what I did:
Wow...the colors look really BRIGHT in the photo, but it's not quite this bright in person...it's a bit softer on the eyes.  There are some things going on here that I'll tell you about!
So I took my TAWS Holiday Sparkles set and embossed some white snowflakes on a piece of glossy card stock.  (This stuff is really slick similar to photo paper, but thicker.)
After embossing the white snowflakes, I took my distress inks and sponged together some pink colors.  The embossing "resists" the snowflakes and doesn't absorb the color into the embossed images.  After I got the colors the way I wanted, I embossed some more snowflakes with some "enchanted gold" sparkle embossing powder.  I then took the same color of distress inks that I used to sponged the background and stamped some more various snowflakes to give it all some depth.

*Now, you must "seal" the ink onto the glossy card stock or it will rub off!  So I took some clear embossing powder over the distress inks to "set" the images onto the glossy card stock.*

I embossed my sentiment with gold embossing powder onto the matching pink card stock and made a banner to place towards the bottom of my card.  I attached a bow with my gold cord next to the sentiment on the banner and then I used some gold enamel dots to place in the center of some of the snowflakes.

I love how this turned out!  It's so sparkly and shinny!  I really need to do a video of this technique so you can see how awesome and easy it is!  So let me know if you're interested in seeing that!
Thanks so much for dropping in with me today!  I really appreciate your visits! :)

So Silver!

Hello friends!
Here I am again today to share yet some more cards with you!
I wanted to be sure to make up these cards before a couple of challenges ended and I missed them!
I must have had silver and blue on my mind when I made these!
Check it out...
I really wanted to pull out my Simon Says Kits and get them out to have a play with them!  I have a couple of the last month's kit sitting there that are wanting me to pull them out for a play!
So this card is a simple one, but boy do I love that silver embossing! :)

This isn't necessarily a Christmas card...or even a New Year's card, but I thought it would make for a nice neutral birthday card, which I needed some to send out...so this is what I did!
The card base is silver card stock and I embossed the sentiments with silver embossing powder.  I found some silver thread from my cross-stitch days and made a "nest" to tuck behind the embossed sentiment and just added some silver sequins to it.  The blue panel was die cut with my LF stitched rectangle.

Here are the challenges I'd like to enter the above card for:
CAS-ology - silver

Clear It Out - Theme:  Blue colors / Stash: ribbon/twine (I hope my silver thread counts!)

And I have also made a second card so I don't miss out on a challenge:
For this card, the deer circle panel was cut from my Cricut Explore machine.  I added some silver dots on his collar with my silver metallic gel pen.  I die cut a stitched circle with silver card stock and also the "Believe" word die was cut with the same card stock.

I then die cut a banner with chocolate card stock to place behind the circle deer panel.  I had an old pine leaf punch and punched some out with white card stock to add behind the silver circle.
I used the same silver lustre patterned paper that I used for the deer panel and die cut another piece out with my Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle die cut and then took the Lawn Fawn Let it Snow stamp set and embossed the tree with silver embossing powder for the background.

Here are the challenges I'd like to enter this card for:

Coffee Lovers Holiday Blog Hop

Hello friends!
I feel like I'm on a continuation of blog posts here! LOL!
'Tis the Season to share! :)  I also wanted to join along in the fun here before it came to an end which is only a few hours away!  So...since I AM a lover of coffee...it only makes sense to join!
If you have not heard of this, there is a "coffee lover's blog hop" hosted by Amy on her blog.  I had participated in one earlier this year and thought it to be fun.  Besides there is a HUGE list of sponsors that kindly give away fabulous prizes!  Lover of coffee..here I am! :)
And here's the card I made for this blog hop:
And since I'm still on my Christmas card making kick, I made one with a Christmas theme of course!
I actually have put together a couple of my Simon Says Stamp kits to make this along with a few other miscellaneous items lurking in my stash.
It's also hard to tell in the photo, but the heart on the coffee cup was brushed with my Wink of Stella glitter pen and then I added some glossy accents over top of that.
The tag is a Lawn Fawn die cut.  The rest are old SU! stash! :)

I wanted to make this short and sweet!  I wish you all a fabulous weekend and I thank you for stopping in a my blog!  I love hearing from you all!!

P.S.  If you see a word verification box when you go to leave me a comment, ignore it and just hit "publish" comment.  You don't need to type anything in the verification box.

Flashback Friday - Going Digital

Hello friends!  We are at the end of another week already! WOW!
Are you getting your Christmas plans/to-do list finished up?  I think no matter how much I try and prepare ahead of time, I always have something else left to do!  LOL!

So today's "Flashback Friday" is about digital!
Although I remember when digital images started becoming more popular, it still has been several years ago!  I have also gone through some MAJOR computer issues during that time and have went through several computers as well!  (As I'm sure many of us have!)  So some of the digital stamps I used to have may have gotten lost in computer space somewhere, I have been able to keep some of them on my computer and I do enjoy printing them out sometimes and doing some coloring.

Today's card is a VERY special card and the reason behind it has really touched my heart especially during this busy Holiday time.
If you haven't heard about this special little girl, here is the link to the story CLICK HERE
and I would like to encourage you to join along in sending her a Christmas card. It sort of puts into perspective about what Christmas is all about.

So here is my Christmas shaker card for little Addie:
I have used this darling Little Christmas Angel digital stamp designed by Crissy Armstrong from Whimsy Stamps.  If you belong to the Whismy Stamps Facebook Group, they had given this image for free to help those create a card to send to Addie.  But I have had this sweet image already sitting in a folder on my computer and I've had it since the last time I was on their design team which was a few years back now...I'm thinking 2010ish?  So....don't forget those cute and fun digital stamps lurking around in your computer waiting to be printed out once again! :)

I have also used the Clearly Whimsy stamp set called Christmas Greetings for the background.

P.S.  Also, in case you didn't know, Whimsy Stamps will no longer be carrying any digital stamps to sell due to some sort of tax law changes regarding digital stamps.  So starting in the New Year, they will be gone!  Right now they are having a major good sell on them though.  So if you are a digital stamp lover, now is a great time to stock up on your favorites from their store!

Here is another angle of my shaker card:
I have it laying down so you can see all of the shaker stuff inside.  I've used various sequins and beads from my stash.  I have tied a bow with some red metallic ribbon and made some curls to drape along the edges of my card.  I also took some linen thread and made a bow with the silver bells to add on top of that as well.  (The layers were all die cut using my Lawn Fawn Stitched rectangle dies.)  And then of course I used a double layer of double sided foam mounting tape to keep the shaker elements inside.

Here's a brief video of me shaking the card! LOL

So since Addie is collecting Christmas cards, I thought this would be a fun one for her to shake around to see all of the sequins, snowflakes and beads bobbling around in there. :)  I do hope that she gets a TON of Christmas cards to enjoy!

If you have any digital stamps that have been sitting around in your computer too, then print one out and join along with me this Flashback Friday!
I thank you so much for stopping in today and I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Silver Bugaboo Bells & A Pile of Christmas!

Hello friends!  I have been trying to rev up my Christmas card making and I thought that perhaps by joining in some fun challenges that this would help to complete my task!
So hopefully I can REALLY work hard on getting my Christmas cards finished up so that I can mail them all out this weekend!  Let's HOPE anyway! :)

Since I've missed the last several days of the fun
Bugaboo Christmas Chaos event...I think I'm going to be ONE and DONE! LOL!
If I hadn't caught this on the third or fourth day, maybe I could have had a chance.  Oh well, there's always next year, right?! LOL!  So for the first day, they wanted to see some
Sparkle & Shine. Simply create a card that has glitter, sparkle, gems, pearls etc.

So here's the card that I made for that:
So I wasn't sure what I was going for here other than a "silver bell" card.
I printed out the Winter Circle Sentiments - Jingle Bells image and punched it out with my mega circle punch and then punched out a piece of metallic silver card stock with my scallop circle punch to go behind it.

I stamped the smokey slate colored card base with white dots and embossed a greeting with silver embossing powder.  After embossing it, I didn't think that it stood out very well against the gray colored card stock, so I rubbed some white chalk over it.  Not sure that helped either! LOL!  I also added some silver metallic ribbon to the top of the circle image and rounded the bottom corners with my corner chomper.

Here are the details of the main image:
So now that you can see a closer view of the card, you can see the details more clearly.  This is what I hate about photos on the blog...they don't show everything you want.
I have colored the holly and ribbons on the bells with my Copic markers and colored in the bells with my silver metallic gel pen...so shimmery!  I also used a soft blue Copic to add shadows around the snowflakes and outer portion of the circle.  On top of that, I added some Stickles Glitter glue and I also coated the holly berries with glossy accents.
The circle panel was popped up with foam squares.

So just a quick and simple post for me today...wasn't expecting to post anything, but in the spirit of Christmas, what's another Christmas card sharing, right?!
And when I say "another card to add to the pile"....here's what I mean:
So I know you've probably seen most of these cards on my blog.  There are a few of them that I inadvertently sneaked in behind the others because I haven't posted them yet, or for some other "snoopy people" that frequent my blog at times!  Not naming names! *wink
I am also working on an assembly line of them in the next few days so that I can get them all finished!  Perhaps I can share some of them as I go along this month which would make my posting MUCH easier finishing out the year!! LOL!!  Yeah, I know...cheater!

Thanks so much for dropping by and I'll see you tomorrow!

Christmas Hearts

Hello friends!  Hope you are having a great week so far!
Just wanted to share a quick post with you today and another card to add to my pile!

For some reason my camera is acting funny, so I shot this card at different angles until I was able to get a good one! LOL!
Anyway, I have used the really cool Scandi Christmas from Whimsy Stamps.  I used the challenge photo below for inspiration on my card.
I think I was inspired by the knitted look of the Christmas lights in the photo along with the colors, so when I saw this stamp set, it reminded me of that knitted pattern look.  I took the ink colors:  (all Stampin' Up!)  Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Strawberry Slush & Wild Wasabi to stamp out my hearts along the side of my design.  I stamped them all on one white piece of card stock and then used my Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle dies to make the layers on it.  I stamped the sentiment in black and then added a couple of red gems between the words.

Hope you've enjoyed my simple card today and I'll see you again on Friday for another "Flashback Friday" post!!  Thanks for stopping in!

Twice as Old as Ol' Saint Nick!

Hello friends!  Happy Monday!
So are you in a panic yet over your Christmas cards?  I'm just going to keep making them all month long as I go because I never seem to have enough on hand or forget about sending one out to someone here or there! LOL!

So today I have a simple Santa to share with you.  I thought since I was making Christmas cards, I would just go ahead and use the whole sheet of card stock and make two out of it!
There's just something about this Santa image that I really like.  It's from an older (probably retired) Stampin' Up! stamp set that I have in my stash called "Jolly Old Saint Nick".  He sort of reminds me of those Vintage Santa's that you see.  So of course, I'm hanging on to HOARDING this old stamp set!  It's always fun to rummage through my old stash of stamps and pull something out that I haven't used for a while.  It also brings back memories of when I colored this image in with NO Copic markers!  Yeah, that was my old days of water-coloring in all of my images!  He just seems to come back to life for me right now!  Just added a bit of sparkle to his hat and a dot of white gel pen to his rosy cheeks.  I then layered this panel onto gold metallic card stock, then black and then attached that to the red card base.  Easy peasy and FUN!

Here's a closer view of one of the cards:
I wanted to keep this simple and so I was going back and forth with weather I should be adding anything else to it.  Nope, I'm done and they both go into my "card pile" now.

I do hope you like my card today and I'll be back again soon with another Christmas card!:)
Thanks for stopping by!

A Flashback For Coloring in Cuteness!

Hello friends!  So are you glad it's Friday finally?!
I am ready for the weekend as I've got to cross off some things from my Holiday "to do" list!
So today starts another "Flashback Friday" post and here's what I've got for you:

Coloring Cuteness

If you have followed along with my blog for a few years, then you know all of those sweet and adorable images that I was lucky enough to accumulate in my stash! :)
I think my favorite of all time has got to be those darling Elisabeth Bell stamps!

I used to be on the "Belles 'n Whistles" design team and sadly it had closed down a couple years back.  The good news is that Elisabeth Bell is opening up a brand new collection on December 15th called "Lissy Bee Stamps"!  I've been seeing this on her Facebook page and her blog.  So if you are a fan of her work, you might want to check that out!  (Of course she does sell her images through her digital collection and Whimsy Stamps -Little Cottage Cuties-currently as well.)

So here is the darling Elisabeth Bell stamp I've chosen to use today:
I honestly do not remember the name of her, but I think she's so sweet with her angel costume peering into what looks like an empty stocking! LOL!  The names were not printed on any of the packaging, so if anyone does know the name of this, I will edit my post with it.
*She may even be re-released somewhere else, but if so, I'm not aware of it.*

And what's REALLY sad about this is that I have NOT inked her up until this card!  I know, slap me!! LOL!  She's been neglected on my stamp shelf with no love!
Well, I'm bringing her back to life today....hence the REASON behind my "Flashback Friday" posts is to get me to do this very thing!  Otherwise, I think it's a tragic waste, right?

So here's my non-traditional Christmas colored Flashback Friday card:
It took me a good 30 minutes to color her in, but I always think that it's worth the effort when I'm done.  I think I'm probably a slow color-er anyway! LOL!
I've used some soft blue and eggplant colors which I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE putting together for my favorite color combo!

She's colored in with my Copic markers, but I've also added some other details to her with my metallic clear gel pen for the trimming scribbles along her angel dress and her halo.
I've also used my white gel pen for dots on the ends of her stocking, some fine glitter to glue on her angel wings and finally some liquid pearls for the dots around the holly leaves and centers of the stamped snowflakes/star bursts in the background.

I've cut the panel out and mounted it on a silver metallic card stock panel with a touch of Pool Party colored card stock along the edge of the panel that was rounded off with my corner chomper and then I took my Elegant Eggplant marker to draw some dash lines on it and then popped it up over my Elegant Eggplant card base that was stamped with the same color of ink with the same snowflake/star burst image that I used on the image panel.

I took some silver metallic ribbon and attached to the front of my card base and added some dots to the centers of the eggplant snowflakes/star bursts on the base.  I also took an older sentiment from my stash and embossed it on my card base with white embossing powder.  I thought it went well with the image! LOL!

I am very glad that I got her out for some coloring time fun!
Sometimes I really enjoy to just sit and color...takes me back to my childhood when I would enjoy hours of my time coloring with crayons! :)  It's so relaxing.

So if you'd like to join me on my mission by pulling out an image that has been sitting on your shelf for a while just itching to be pulled out and colored in, then please let me know what you've done by leaving me a comment or link to your project so I can come see it!

I thank you so much for dropping in today!  Hope you've enjoyed my card and have a great weekend!
