We're Going to Party...Like It's My Birthday! + BLOG CANDY!!

Hello friends!!

So, I've decided I'm taking a very short blog break this next week and sorry I won't be posting, BUT I have some FUN things to share with you while I'm away....

"Hint...while the cat's away...the MICE will play"...right?!! LOL!

Well, next week is my birthday and I have some fun special TREATS to share with you!!
I'm GIVING AWAY some special blog candy too!
So please be sure to check at the bottom of this post to enter!!!

First, I wanted to share some goodies that I've recently received including some fun gifts from hubby!  He's such a fabulous guy...don't know what I'd do without him in my life!  So it's fun to be able to share something with these products today! :)
OK...so IN ADDITION to the fun crafty items I've received, I feel like I got a special birthday present from Simon Says Stamp too and I've finally been able to share this....
here are the items and I'll explain...
So of course ONE of my favorite things about the month of September is not only my birthday month, but it's also STAMPtember!!  Well, you know how I love a good celebration with crafty fun, right?!!
So the kind and generous folks over at Simon Says Stamp GAVE AWAY some products for their up-coming STAMPtember event back in August!  I was one of the lucky ones chosen to receive this really awesome die!!  This one is called Happy Birthday Circle die...and I love it!  I have to be honest and say that I didn't at first because I couldn't get the darn thing to cut out all of those intricate details!  So I got frustrated and set it aside for a bit.

My wonderful hubby always wants to help me out you know!  LOL!  So he was kind enough to send me a few early birthday presents my way...that is partially what you see on the right side of the photo!  Now how in the world could I resist getting this awesome Distress Ink NEW COLOR WILTED VIOLET from Ranger?!!  If I was to design a purple color for myself that I love....THIS would be it!!  They hit the purple nail on the head with this one...really loving it!!

So anyway, although it's not really that "sexy" to show off in a photo, I've also got the Sizzix Precision Plate.  Let me tell you, it's most certainly WORTH the money to get especially for those very intricate dies!  It cut through my paper like buttah!  So because of that, I was able to produce a card finally using this awesome die cut that SSS gave me!

Wow!! So check out that purple color!  So cool!
I've taken that Wilted Violet and rubbed it on my craft mat and sprayed it with water and rubbed my watercolor around on it.  Now there is a circle die that goes with this intricate birthday wording which may not look very obvious at first.  So the circle was cut out and watercolored with the new ink color and then I cut out the intricate circle with some gold foil paper and my precision plate..bada bing, bada boom!  I've also used a couple of elements from the latest SSS card kit too!  There were these clear arcylic type of cards which I've attached with glue on the bottom portion of my card.  I've also added some gold thread to make the die cut circle appear like a big balloon.

Here's a closer look at that gold shine...
I think it's just stunning IRL of course!  You can sort of catch the reflection from the acrylic portion at the bottom from the shine of the gold hitting the light...I love the amazing shine on this card!  So wish you could see it in person!  Anyone have a birthday?!! LOL!
By the way, this die is sold out over there I see, but I'm sure they'll get some back in stock.
Now I'm looking forward to the next October SSS card kit...how about you?

So now, I have one more tiny little project to share with you as I couldn't resist playing with the very product items I happen to be giving away.....

Are these not the CUTEST little mice?!!
This tag was made with the fun stamp set called "Merry Christmouse" in collaboration with Lawn Fawn for the Simon Says Stamp #STAMPtember event!  - Yes...it's gone people!!  GONE!
Well...except for right here anyway to ONE lucky winner!! :)

I have used the Lawn Fawn Tag, You're It Die to cut out this tag with white card stock.  I used the reinforcer to cut out the hole with red card stock.  I've added some Green Sparkle cord which is the same as what I'm giving away with the prize too!  I've stamped the sentiment on the tag along with some hearts from the stamp set. The little mouse was stamped, colored with my Copics and cut out with the coordinating die cut.  I've added some green Stickles to his present and the tiny dot on the "i" in the "mice" sentiment.  There is also a strip of paper that I've used from the Lawn Fawn Chunky Scarf paper.  The mouse is popped up with some foam tape.

It's a great time to start getting ahead for those Christmas tags I'll be needing, right?!
So, if you are inspired and would like a chance to make a "MICE" tag too, then check out the details below!!

So with ALL of that fun....even-though it's my birthday, I want to give YOU a treat!
I will draw ONE lucky winner below on the comments from THIS post!  PLEASE tell me weather or not you'd like to be entered into the drawing to receive this prize so I know along with a way to contact you if you are the winner!  YES...I will contact you!
There's NO NEED to follow me, post about this, share, LIKE my on Facebook or anything!

Using Your Die Cuts for Embossing Paste + VIDEO!

Hello friends!
It's Wednesday and that means it's time for another
WHIMSY STAMPS Wednesday Video!
Today I have something fun to share using your die cuts with embossing paste!
I have created these three cards with this method that I will share with you in the video below:
I've used a different method on each design with the embossing paste which you can learn more about in detail how I've done each one on the video.
I've used several Whimsy Stamps Shapeology Dies to create some "stencils" to use with my embossing paste!

To check out the details on how I achieved the look in each card, check out my video!
(To see the video in HD or on You Tube - CLICK HERE!)
*Tip* - to view the video to fill your screen, click on the box on the bottom right corner after it starts to play!  ENJOY!

I hope that you can see that the dies you already have on hand can be very useful in stretching your products and give you other ideas on how to use them in your crafting!  I think it's fun to discover new ways on using products that you already have on hand! :)

For a closer look at the individual cards....
This is such a fun way to use those sentiment dies in your collection.  I found that not all sentiment dies will work for this technique, but it sure is fun to get another use out of them!  If you want to know how I got this look, check out the video above! :)
I've used the Clearly Whimsy Stamp set Basic Backgrounds & Borders set as well as the Thanks a Million stamp set to get this look.  The sentiment die that I've used is the Thanks Word Die.

Here's a look at this pretty star design:
For the look of the stars on this, I've used the Whimsy Stamps Pierced Stars Die set.
I've added some Pearl Ex powders to give that shimmer look.  (If you want to see a video on some ideas on how to use the Pearl Ex powders, please let me know...they're so fun!)
I've added a sentiment and some stars on this design with both the Pearl Ex powders as well as some silver embossing powder to give some shimmery "wow" factor.  I've also sprayed it with some shimmer spray to help hold on the Pearl Ex powder and an extra added shimmer to the design.
The stamps that I've used on this card are from the Clearly Whimsy Stamps Happy Everything set.
I've attached the card front onto a white A2 sized white card base.

**To SEE Close-Up views of all of these projects...check out the video above!**

And for my final card, I've used an intricate die cut for my stencil:
I love how this turned out!  And if you look closely at the design, you will see that this Whimsy Stamps Winter's Jewel 1 die looks slightly different than the look on my card due to the nature of the stencil that I've made with it.  It's fun to see the different looks you can get making stencils with your die cuts too!  To see the details on how I got this look with embossing paste, catch the video above to see it in close view detailed view!

I've finished off the card with an embossed background panel where I've added a navy die cut sentiment from the Whimsy Stamps Large Christmas Word die and I've also added a small tag from the Whimsy Stamps Stitched Tags die set to the ribbon on the design.  The sentiment was stamped from the Clearly Whimsy Stamps Christmas Greetings set.
I think the sparkly snowflake really stands out nicely over the navy color and white background.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
I hope you've enjoyed my video and if you'd like to see something else in an up-coming video, please let me know what you think!  I'd love to hear from you!

Enjoy your week! :)

A Colorful Challenge at {Cupcake Inspirations}!

Hello friends!
Hope you're enjoying your weekend so far!
Took a fun trip to the local apple orchid...one of my fave things to do in the Fall! :)

So today starts a "colorful" {Cupcake Inspirations} challenge!  And here is a stunning photo with the theme to help inspire you with that:

I think this is a really fun inspiration and a fabulous combo for Fall too! :)

We have a fabulous sponsor for our challenge this week as well!
Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

They are offering up a wonderful prize this week to a lucky winner by giving away a $10.00 gift Voucher towards the purchase of digital stamps!!  Wow!  How awesome!  So be sure to play along for your chance to win!!

They were very generous in giving the design team some cute images to play with for this challenge too!  Here's what I've come up....
I think Cocoa is probably my favorite "character" that they make! :)  This particular one is called Cocoa's Candy Apple.  Although it's supposed to be a "candy apple", I can't resist a really good caramel apple and so this is what I've chosen to do with it!  As you can see from the photo, I have the yummy looking caramel covered with glossy accents and for the red apple, I've covered it with some Wink of Stella.  I thought it would be fun to make "dots" on the ribbon with my white gel pen as well.  I've kept the color combo in mind when making this card too.  So I've used both the red and green card stock to match.  I've used a Whimsy Stamps speech bubble border die for the top portion above the image and then embossed the sentiment with a stamp set from Whimsy Stamps also called Sweet as Candy - Sweet Sentiments with white embossing powder.
For a finishing touch I just added some clear sequins.

I hope you're inspired to play along with us!  Be sure to check out the challenge to see the rest of the inspiration from the DT!! :)

Thanks for stopping in!! See you real soon!

Flashback Friday with My Favorite Things

Hello friends!
There's nothing like the feeling of watching the rain from the window and having fun inside stamping in your studio!  It's been very dry here lately so the rain is very welcome right now.
My thoughts have been with those that are going through wild fire disasters and droughts right now.

Welcome to another FLASHBACK FRIDAY!! :)  Woot!
So you are probably used to seeing some old Stampin' Up! products on Fridays, but that's mainly because I own SO MANY older sets from them.  Today is a bit different though!

So...several years ago I have been familiar with My Favorite Things, but never really purchased a whole lot from them.  Mainly because of so many other things I was "into" at the time! LOL!
I had actually won a gift certificate from them from somewhere and I really don't remember for what or where, but I went "shopping" with my gift certificate and this was the VERY thing that I have ever gotten from them.

The ONLY thing, believe it or not, that I "purchased" with my gift certificate there was this:
These are the MFT Die-namics Open Hexagon Borders.
Now, I do not exactly how old these dies are, but I do know that I've had them for a few years now.  I've purchased from them here and there, but I've found myself being more involved with them lately as they have many "cool" things in their shop! :)  Which I know they always have, but for some reason, it has especially peeked my interest within the last couple of years.
So I've pulled them out and decided to collaborate them with some of my newer MFT products!
Here's what I came up with:

So although this may look a bit simple, it took a bit to put together as you can see from the nature of the hexagon dies that I've used for this shown above! :)

I've used my newer background stamp from MFT called Roses All Over Background and inked it up with the yellow ink over yellow card stock and then did it again with the teal colored card stock with teal colored ink.  I then ran the hexagon border die over them and saved the hexagon centers and used those for a pattern to fill in after I've used the outline border strips with the orange colored card stock.  They were all pieced together inside the circle.

For the circle, I've used the MFT Stitched Circle dies for the circle cut in the center of the square card as well as the black border around the inside of it.  (Although you can't see the stitched edges, it's what I had to use to make the circle cut out.)  The hexagon background was attached to the back of those layers.

For the butterfly, I've used some dye ink pads and mixed the inks together onto a piece of watercolor paper and then cut out a butterfly with the MFT Flutter of Butterflies and then I cut out the outlined butterfly with the MFT Flutter of Butterflies - Lace with black card stock and glued it over the watercolor butterfly.  Of course I couldn't help but add some Wink of Stella to the wings! :)

For the sentiment banner, I've used another OLD MFT stamp set called "Silhouette Cameos".  I know it's old enough that they don't carry it in the store any more.  But I've taken the sentiment from it and made my own banner with my scissors for it and tucked it inside the circle frame.
(This older stamp set came from a surprise package that I got for donating for a charity several months ago.  It's a cool set that I hope to get out again.)

I hope you've enjoyed my simple FLASHBACK FRIDAY today! :)
Thanks so much for joining me!!
Be sure to stop by again on Sunday where I will have a new post for you!  Enjoy your weekend!

There's a NEW Card Kit in Town!! - CHECK OUT THE VIDEO!!

Hello friends!
Hope you are all having a fabulous week so far! :)

I have some really special and FUN news to share with you today!
Whimsy Stamps has started doing
I know that there are many people, including myself that really enjoy getting a monthly card kit in the mail!  It's like a Christmas present delivered to your door every month with fun crafty supplies! :)
I also love that this one is geared towards a fun Halloween type theme!

So of course I got to have some fun playing around with the products and have come up a few things that are great for making your Halloween special for those around you!
And do you remember that fun spooky sky watercolor card that I made?  The very same stamp and die cuts that I used are included in this kit!  (That is if you choose the Elisabeth Bell - Sabrina the Little Witch stamp for your kit.)  But with either stamp choice you make, the other items within the kit are the same.  I will explain more about this in my video below...

Here is the video that will walk you through all of the contents within the kits and explain what items you will be receiving with your Whimsy Stamps September 2015 card kit:
To watch the video in HD or to see on You Tube - CLICK HERE
Be sure to click the bottom right corner of the video once it starts playing to view in full screen!

How fun is this?!  I love that you can purchase everything together that all coordinates without having to go through all of your stash to find something that works with your project!
**Please realize that these kits are produced in limited quantities and once they are sold out, they will no longer be available for purchase!*

What I find is really cool about these kits is that you are able to choose your own stamp image you want with the kit.  You can choose either the Elisabeth Bell Sabrina the Little Witch (photographed above) - or you can choose the Lizzy Love Spooky Sookie the Halloween Fairy for your kit!  There is also NO COMMITMENT to continue on with another kit, you can choose to not only pick which kit you want, but there is no obligation to continue on to the next month unless you want it! :)
So be sure to click on those links and check out these fun kits for yourself!!

Here's a closer look at the individual projects I've made with the contents in the kits:
In the video above, I show you how I've put  together these super adorable Halloween treat containers!
They are so simple and fun and everything I've used with the exception of the dies and twine have all come from the kit...oh sorry, you have to buy your own candy too!! LOL!!
So if you want to know how to make one for your little goblin, catch the video!

And of course, since there is several different bags of sequins in the kit, you can't help but want to put together a fun shaker card either!! :)  So I've colored in this adorable "Sabrina the Witch" by Elisabeth Bell with my Copic markers and glued her to the front of my star filled shaker card!  If you want to learn how I've put together this little shaker card all with the contents from the kit, please  check it out on the video above! :)

And of course last, but certainly not to be missed for fun, I've used some of the fun papers from the kit and put together this tag.  Now, this is not just an ordinary tag, but as you can see, it also includes a fun little pouch in the front that will hold a special treat for someone!

This idea came all from my own invention.  I didn't want to just place another piece of card stock in front of the tag because a fun size candy bar needs some room to breath you know!?  So, I figured out the dimensions and put together a fun little pouch in front of the tag that you can tie onto a gift to be included, put money or a special treat inside.  And as you can see, it stands up nicely with the pouch.

So please stay tuned in every month to see monthly kits from Whimsy Stamps!
I hope you've enjoyed the introduction video for the Whimsy Stamps September 2015 card kit!
Thanks so much for stopping by!!

P.S.  Please let me know if you've used this kit!  I'd love to see what you come up with!

Make Your Mark at Addicted to Stamps!

Good evening friends! :)
Are you ready for another fun challenge?  Come on over to
Addicted to Stamps
to play along with us for a "Make Your Mark" challenge this week!
-so bring out those markers, Copics, watercolors, pencils or anything you can "make a mark" with and play along for some FUN!-

We have a fabulous sponsor to give a prize for a lucky winner!
They will be giving 3 digital stamps to a lucky winner!
(click on badge to go to the store.)

Today I am sharing a really fun card that I actually had made for my son's birthday!  He has already received this and I know that it brought him a smile and his girlfriend really liked it too! :)
Isn't this the CUTEST idea?!!  I can't take the credit for this idea as it came from someone who I enjoy seeing ideas from which is Nichol Magouirk.  I changed it up slightly with the colors and design, but I absolutely loved her idea using the googly eyes for a shaker element!  Of course the punny sentiment is perfect with it as well! :)

The adorable monsters come from the Lawn Fawn set called Monster Mash along with the coordinating dies that go with them.  I've also used the fun papers from the Beachside Paper Pack and cut them out with the Stitched Rectangle Dies from Lawn Fawn to create the shaker frames.  I thought it was a great idea to use those larger googly eyes from my stash that never will be used on a card that I make.  I've attached a couple of them on the black background for floating effect.  I also have some tiny ones in there as well which sort of sank to the bottom, but go all over when you shake the card! :)

I really enjoyed coloring in these monsters with my Copic markers!  I used the feathering technique on some of the horned monsters for a "long furry" affect! LOL!  I also added some star sequins on the outside of the shaker and dotted it with gold Stickles in the centers.  Really fun to put together.

And for the record, EYE do think my son is rather NEAT!!! :)

I hope you've enjoyed my creation today and will be inspired to come join the "make your mark" challenge with us!
Thanks for stopping in!!

{Cupcake Inspirations} is "LACING" Up Another Challenge!

Hello friends!
Hope you're enjoying your weekend!
I have been celebrating with my son for his birthday. So fun to visit with him.

So today starts another {Cupcake Inspirations} challenge!  And here is a stunning photo with the theme to help inspire you with that:
Such elegant looking cupcakes, right?!  Almost too pretty to eat!! :)

We have a fabulous sponsor for our challenge this week as well!
(Click on the badge above to be taken to their shop)

They are offering up a wonderful prize this week to a lucky winner by giving away a $25.00 gift card to their store!!  Wow!  How awesome!  So be sure to play along for your chance to win!!

They were very generous in giving the design team some beautiful products to play with for this challenge too!  Here's what I've come up....
The beautiful lace that I've used on my creation from the sponsor is some 1" White Lace Ribbon which you can find in their store.  I've also used some 1/4" Crochet Trim Ribbon that I've layered over top of that and wrapped around the die cut square.

So since this challenge was all about LACE, I thought I'd pull out a stamp I haven't used yet.  I've stamped MFT Lace Background stamp with VersaMark ink and embossed it with white EP over some really gorgeous shimmery card stock.  I've also done this to the stitched frame that I've cut out with MFT Stitched Square Frames die.  I've got the the frame popped up over the card note base with foam tape.  For the sentiment, I've taken the MFT Happy Everything stamp set and embossed it with silver EP and added a silver dazzles sticker strip below the sentiment to make a nice border.  I've also used the MFT Happy Trio Die and covered it with the same silver EP to match the sentiment and so that it stood out a bit better over the white lace.

So I wanted to add some flowers to match the photo as well, so I've placed some pearls in the centers of the flowers.  I thought this would make for a really elegant wedding gift note.  (Which I have one coming up soon, so this will be perfect for it! )

I sure hope that you will join us for this challenge because I would LOVE to see all of those gorgeous LACE creations entered for this challenge!! :)  So get your lace and play along!
Be sure to check out the {Cupcake Inspirations} blog for more inspiration!

Thanks so much stopping in today!  Hope you were inspired to create something "LACEY"!!

Each day (including today), and for the next 2 days, we will have a new blog hop, showcasing more of the new release items along with a new chance to win.
**(See details about the prize at the bottom of this post!)**

So for the creation I made today, I've used one of the brand new images from the new release called "Sabrina the Witch" designed by Elisabeth Bell (Little Cottage Cuties Collection)
Having so much fun, I've pulled out a couple of different watercolor media to make a fun "Spooky Sky" background as well as using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to color this adorable witch!

Here is what "Sabrina the Witch" looks like:
I think she's totally adorable! :)  I've got her black embossed on a piece of Strathemore Bristol Smooth Watercolor Paper.  For some reason, I think these Clean Color Real Brush markers seem to have a nicer look to them when using this watercolor paper versus using the traditional cold press watercolor paper.  You will be able to see a comparison on this in my video as I explain the differences.

And of course, I couldn't use "Sabrina the Witch" without having a really fun and "spooky" watercolor sky scene for her to ride her broom in!  So I've used a totally different method in creating a scene for her:
I have used my set of Zig Kuretake Gansi Tambai watercolors to make this colorful star filled background sky, but there is something totally new that I've never done before on this card which is to free-hand the silhouette hill that you see "Sabrina the Witch" standing on.  I've popped her up with some foam tape on my design here.

I had lots of fun playing around with my watercolors for this project as you will see in my video.  So if you want to see how I've created this spooky fun card, be sure to catch my video on the entire process below as well as a few comparisons of watercolor paper and the different effects it has with the Clean Color Real Brush markers.

*Please note - if you prefer to skip the coloring of the image and go directly to the process of how I made the watercolor starry sky, CLICK HERE (to start video at that point.)*

To view the video on You Tube or see in HD- CLICK HERE.
-To view the video in full screen view, click on the bottom right corner of the video once it starts to play. -   ENJOY!

I thought getting out my watercolor media and using them in a couple of different ways would help give you some ideas on what the products are like and a couple of different uses for each one.  It's always helpful to see someone using it before you invest in it.

And to finish off this card, I also wanted to add a little more of the "Halloween" theme by adding in a sentiment from the Whimsy Stamps Mini Chalkboard set.  In the video above, I show you how I masked off part of the sentiment to only use a portion of it.

I've also added in some fun accents with the Whimsy Stamps Halloween die set with the spider web in the corner and some bats flying around the spooky starry night sky.  I've covered those with some Wink of Stella clear glitter pen for a shimmery touch.

To see more ideas using some of these products that I've used on this card today, be sure to subscribe to the Whimsy Stamps You Tube Channel or on my You Tube Channel - Stamp Smiles.
There will be more fun ideas coming soon...so stay tuned in!!

My Lucky Stars!

Hello friends and happy Labor Day!
Did you have plans for the weekend?  We have worked around our house and have done some grilling out, but that's about the extent of it.

It's been a while since I've played around with some My Favorite Things goodies, so I was happy to pull out some items from my stash that I haven't even opened up yet!  They have a couple of challenges going on, so I thought I would incorporate them together with my card:
When this stamp set came out, I thought it was so cool and a really unique take on the stars.  Now that I'm looking at this design with the colors, it reminds me of the 80s for some reason! LOL!
But anyway, I've used this awesome Count the Stars stamp set to stamp the stars with Wild Wisteria ink over my Wild Wisteria tag that I cute from the Stitched Tag dies.  I stamped the sentiment with Black Licorice ink and masked off the portions to make it fit on my tag.

I stamped the "Stars" sentiment with Blu Raspberry ink onto a Blu Raspberry die cut Count the Stars die and then layered that onto a another piece of the same die cut out of some Tropical Teal card stock.  I thought it would give it an extra piece of dimension or shadow.

I've also die cut some different stars in Blu Raspberry and Spearamint card stock with the Lucky Stars die set.  I covered them with my Wink of Stella glitter pen before I glued them to my card.  I've also used some black sequins to tie in the other black elements of the design.

For the stripes in the background, I took the MFT Diagonal Stripes stencil and made an uneven pattern behind my tag by adding in some black ink and embossing paste together.  The tag was popped up with foam tape and I've layered the striped embossed panel over another piece of Wild Wisteria card stock and then mounted that onto a Black Licorice A2 sized card base.

So I hope you like my creation today!  Thanks for stopping in for a peek! ;)
Be sure to stop by here on Wednesday....there will be something FUN coming up!
Have a wonderful day!

Ready to get started on the challenge?!
You will need to use this color combination on your card:
Grass, White & Navy

I thought the the inspirational photo was so cute and I got inspired by that as well when making my card for this challenge.  (You certainly don't have to use the photo if you don't want to make a design, just the colors.)  Here's what I came up with:

And of course you probably know already how much I LOVE to use my Lawn Fawn products, so I pulled out the Cruising Through Life stamp set to make the flag stake.  I colored it with my Copic markers and embossed the "Yay" sentiment from the set with white EP.  I colored the pole with a clear sakura glitter gel pen.  Then I used some Blue Jay twine to tie a bow around it.  I die cut it all out with the coordinating die cuts and glued it to fit inside the circle that I hand cut.

I used the LF Spring Showers cloud dies to cut out some clouds with the LF Beachside 6x6 paper pack.  I then took the sentiment from the stamp set and stamped the sentiment with navy ink just below the stitched clouds.  The grass field was created using the LF Stitched Hillside Borders dies.  I popped out the front layer and then I punched out a circle in white card stock,  I ran the circle through an embossing folder to give it the texture of a golf ball and then popped that up with foam tape on the grassy hill.

Hope you've enjoyed my creation for the challenge and it inspires you to come join in the fun with us!  Be sure to check out the challenge blog to see more inspiration and enter! :)

Thanks so much for dropping in today!  I sure enjoy seeing your comments and thoughts!! :)

Flashback Friday - Got Backgrounds in Your "Backwoods"? + VIDEO!

Hello friends!
Did that Summer go flying past or what?!  Although I love Summer and enjoy the flowers and fun activities of the Season, I think I'm ready for Fall and everything that comes with it!!  Looking forward to many fun things in the future for sure!

I promise I didn't forget about Flashback Friday, I've just had some issues with my computer and I'm just getting it resolved, so I'm happy to be able to share a video with you today! :)....ENJOY!!

Welcome to another "Flashback Friday" (click name for more info)!
Are you ready to go back?!  Not only are we taking another trip back in time, but we are literally going to be going 'back' to  BACKGROUNDS!!
Yes, you know you have them and I'm not alone here! That nice PILE of those old background stamps you have lurking on your shelf, in your room or closet?!  Get those back out!

Let's get our old stash back out again and have some fun!
Today, I'm pulling out some OLD Stampin' Up! background stamps that I rarely get out and use!  They are sitting on my shelf in my stamp room waiting and waiting to be inked....so I gave them their wish and had some fun making several cards with them!  (I still have extras to make even more if I want, but I didn't want to bore you with this forever! LOL!)

I have actually used THREE old background stamps on my cards here!  Can you guess what they are?!  Of course the easy one is actually the "background" itself!  LOL!  I have used one of those background stamps for the purpose it was intended for! :)

These are all old Stampin' Up! background stamps dated circa 2005:
Word by Word
On the Spot
If you're not familiar with these, they are very large wood mounted rubber stamps that will stamp an entire sheet of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of card stock!  The ones I'm using here are retired.  But I have tried to elevate them using some newer elements on my designs and tried to get more use out of them by taken them apart to use in different ways.  I just plain had some creative FUN! :)

Would you like to see the process of how I put these ideas together using my old background stamps?  Then I have this quick video for you so that you can get some ideas on how to stretch out your background stamps too!

check out the video below, or CLICK HERE to view it on You Tube or to see it in HD.
*tip* - Once you start playing the video, click on the small box at the bottom right corner to view the video to fill up your entire screen.

And because I had so many extra elements left over from using my background stamps, I decided to just keep going with it and have more fun making extra cards for other Holidays:
As you can see, I kept with the same A2 sized card bases to start with.
For the Christmas card, I used some red and green distress inks for the strips and popped them over my card design and added another cut out sentiment from the background stamp that would go great with my Christmas Word Die from Whimsy Stamps!  I had some old puffy stickers from my stash and added a poinsettia to give it an added design element.

For the "pink hearts" card, I've distressed a strip with pinks for an ombre look and added it to a piece of pink cardstock that was punched with a scallop border at the bottom.  The cut out sentiment from the background was added over top of it.  Then I just die cut out some hearts with the same pink card stock and added my Wink of Stella glitter pen and glossy accents over top of them.

Hope you've enjoyed this "FLASHBACK FRIDAY" and I hope it will inspire you to take a look at those older items you have in your stash in a creative new way!!

Be sure to come back around on Sunday...I have some awesome news!!

Now go have some crafting fun!! :)  Enjoy your weekend friends!

Photo Inspiration from Addicted to Stamps...

Good evening friends!
Just wanted to stop by and share my creation with you for the new

For this week, there is a cool photo to help inspire your creation:
I love that pop of red with the mushroom!

We are being sponsored by Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet and they are offering a prize of 3 digital images up to $10.00 in value to a lucky winner!  So be sure to play along for your chance to win!
They have also generously provided the design team with some images to work with, so here's what I've made for my creation with the photo above in mind:
I've used this adorable image from the sponsor called Mushroom Town.
I have colored the image with my Copic markers, added some glitter to the white spots on top of the mushrooms and then embossed the sentiment (from my stash) with black embossing powder.

I have die cut the red panel behind the image with my stitched rectangle die and layered that onto a white A2 sized card base.  Simple and fun!

I hope you will join in the challenge with us!  Be sure to check out the rest of the awesome creations that they design team has come up with using this photo too!!  Can't wait to see what you all come up with!! :)

Thanks so much for dropping in!!  See you soon!
